Found: P1.3-M shabu

Anti-narcotics agents have in their hands P1.3 million worth of shabu, which was recovered along a sidewalk in Sta. Ana, Manila.

Philippines Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Anselmo Avenido said the illegal drugs placed inside a black clutch bag was initially retrieved by a couple on the sidewalk near their house on P. Gil street, Sta. Ana, Manila last Wednesday.

The couple were standing in front of their house when a clutch bag fell from a speeding vehicle.

The couple took the bag and opened it hoping to identify the owner.

To their surprise, they found instead a wooden case for a majhong set which contained two transparent resealable plastic packets filled with white crystalline substance.

Last Thursday, the couple reported their find to a policeman-relative assigned in Makati City, who in turn sought the help of his superior officers.

Anti-drug police operatives from the Southern Police District went to the couple’s residence and retrieved the crystalline substance.

Tests conducted on the white crystalline substance showed that it was indeed shabu. – Jaime Laude
