1 hurt in SLEX mishap

A passenger of a bus was slightly injured when an owner-type jeep said to be driven by a police officer changed lanes and collided with two other vehicles along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) yesterday morning.

Manny Prades, an operator of the Philippine National Construction Corp.(PNCC), said the accident happened at around 10:15 a.m. which caused an hour-long traffic buildup. The SLEX was cleared at around 12:20 p.m.

Based on initial reports gathered by the PNCC, the three vehicles were on the northbound lane of the SLEX in Bayanan, Muntinlupa when the incident took place.

The jeep was in the inner lane when it suddenly swerved to the right and was hit by an approaching chemical tanker with plate in the rear.

The tanker also swerved to the right to avoid hitting another car in front, but instead collided with a Jack passenger bus.

"There were reports that one of the bus passengers was slightly injured," Prades said.
