1 killed, 3 injured in Caloocan melee

A 28-year-old laborer was killed while three of his companions were seriously injured when they were reportedly attacked with a knife by a seaman in a drinking spree over the weekend in Caloocan City.

Anthony Fabol, a native of Romblon, and of Langka street, Bgy. 182, Pangarap Village, Caloocan City-North, succumbed to multiple stab wounds in the body while on the way to the Rodriguez Hospital. The three other victims, Eduardo Abaratigue, 36, Reynaldo Bergamo, 31, and Adorne Bergamo, 56, all of Pangarap Village, are now confined in a hospital due to stab wounds in different parts of their body.

According to PO1 Reynaldo Placido, officer-on-case, the victims were having a drinking bout along Langka street when the suspect, identified as Ruan Rogero, 27, seaman, of Tanguela street, Bgy. 181, Pangarap Village, apparently got irked by the group’s noise as he passed by and attacked them with a knife. The victims sustained multiple stab wounds and were rushed to the Rodriguez Hospital where Dr. Edd Talusin declared Fabol dead on arrival.

Rogero escaped after the incident and is now being hunted by the police.

Northern Police District (NPD) director Senior Superintendent Marcelino Franco Jr., in an interview with The STAR said that the NPDO is closely coordinating with barangay leaders to help the police in its campaign against street crimes.
