Police said Jorlan Tolentino sustained three stab wounds in the stomach and died before reaching the Medical City Hospital. His brother, Ram John, 15, and sister, Janelle, 16, also sustained stab wounds.
Authorities arrested suspect Joel Reyes, alias Puppet, who tried to hide in a neighboring barangay.
Investigation showed that the incident happened between 7 to 7:30 a.m. inside the Tolentino residence on Rosal Street, Tambak, Barangay Wawa.
The siblings mother, Irene, had just left their house when the 21-year-old Reyes sneaked inside and found Janelle sleeping on the sofa in the living room.
Reyes reportedly smothered the girl’s face with a pillow while he tried to rape her. However, Janelle, a Sangguniang Kabataan councilor, fought back and shouted for help.
At this point, the brothers ran to help their sister but were stabbed by Reyes. – Nikko Dizon
