Superintendent Jose Marcelo, Valenzuela police chief, identified the suspect as Robert Jinares, an employee of businessman Luis Victorino, 70, who was found dead inside his office in Sitio Ugong Valenzuela.
Jinares was arrested by Valenzuela police follow-up operatives in East Canumay. Jinares faces charges of robbery with homicide.
Initial investigation showed the suspect forced his way into the victims office and emptied the cash drawer of at least P15,000 in cash.
Victorino, who spends the night at his office, was roused from his sleep, and confronted the suspect, whom he caught stuffing the money in a bag. Jinares picked up a piece of wood and hit his employer twice on the head. Victorino fell to the ground with blood oozing from his head after the heavy blows, police said. Jerry Botial
