Victim Abigail Tortor, of 76 Orchid Street, Freedom Park 3, Batasan Hills, suffered fatal concussions in the head after she was dropped on a steel chair and died while receiving treatment at the Philippine Childrens Hospital.
The suspect, Jonard Foronda, also of the same address, fled right after the killing and is now the subject of a manhunt operation by the Central Police District.
According to PO2 Randy Escobido, Tortor was shaken and later dropped her head first by Foronda after he got irritated because of the baby girls "loud cries inside their house at about 9 a.m.
"The suspect physically abuses the baby everytime she cried. And he just went too far this time," Escobido said in an interview.
Tortor was apparently crying for food during the time when an annoyed Foronda picked her up and started shaking her violently. When the victim did not stop bawling, he dropped her on a steel chair, head first.
Investigators said that the impact on her skull was so strong that the girl suddenly lost consciousness. Realizing what he had done, Foronda immediately fled the scene. The victims mother Mylene, later saw her daughter not breathing while lying on the floor. She was rushed to the hospital where she succumbed to head injuries at about 7:05 p.m. Matthew Estabillo
