SPO4 Leonardo Timtiman, head of the Makati Police Homicide Division, identified the victim as Makoto Hirano, 58, President of Nissan Diesel Philippines and a native of Fukuoka in Japan.
The body of Hirano was discovered by his maid Myrna Kapilitan at around 6:10 a.m. yesterday inside his room at Unit 71, Cosmopolitan Tower, 134 Valero St., Salcedo Village, Makati City.
According to PO2 Juvenal Barbosa, there were no external injuries on the body of the victim and there were no signs of struggle or forced entry into the condo unit.
When interrogated, Kapilitan said that her employer was not feeling well since last Friday and was constantly seeking her for water and medicine.
She expressed her surprise upon seeing Hirano dead in his bed when she went in to check up on him yesterday morning.
Although the initial investigation showed no signs of foul play, the Makati Police are still not ruling out the possibility until the case has been thoroughly examined.
The police are also trying to secure a clearance to conduct an autopsy on the body but they are still waiting for the relatives or a representative of the Japanese Embassy. Marvin Sy
