PO2 Juancho Ibis of the Makati Police Homicide Division, identified the victim as Jerome Cueca, jobless, a resident of Block 81, Suha St., Barangay West Rembo, Makati City.
It was revealed that Cueca’s body was found by his brother Oscar hanging by a nylon cord around his neck tied to the ceiling beam of his room at around 6:30 p.m. last Friday.
According to Oscar, his brother had a quarrel with his wife earlier that day, the latest of a series of arguments that went on for the whole week. A suicide note was found near the body addressed to Cueca’s wife.
In Muntinlupa City, an alleged nephew of alleged drug queen Yu Yuk Lai was also found dead inside his prison cell in an apparent suicide.
Bureau of Corrections Director Ricardo Macala identified the victim as 21-year-old Kenneth Mozada alias William Sy.
At around 6 p.m. last Friday, Mozada was found hanging from his cell by a blanket tied around his neck.
Macala stressed that there was no foul play in the incident because of the suicide note found in the victim’s cell. It was revealed that the victim was suffering from severe depression primarily because no one visited him in jail. — Marvin Sy
