No exam fixing — PRC

A reminder from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for all licensure examinees: The PRC does not allow re-checking of examination papers.

This reminder comes in the heels of the 29th founding anniversary of the agency to guard against fixers who victimize those who fail the examinations and who claim to have "strong connections" in the Commission.

"Our policy is plain and simple enough — examination results are final," PRC chairperson Antonieta Fortuna-Ibe said.

Ibe said those who obtain "conditional rating or grade" can avail of a removal examination, the result of which is also final.

The PRC oversees 42 professions including teachers, doctors, engineers and seamen.

The public is urged to report fixers by directly calling Ibe’s office at telephone number 735-1535 or the Legal and Investigation Division at 735-1248. The PRC Central Office is located at Padre Paredes St., Sampaloc, Manila.

Since August last year, the PRC has been coordinating with the National Bureau of Investigation and police authorities in its intensified campaign against fixers. The campaign has since neutralized certain syndicates which had operated for so long and under several pretenses.
