At the same time, Vice Mayor Jo Jason Alcaraz gave the Philippine National Construction Corp. (PNCC) until June 3 to submit to the city government the results of the load testing the agency conducted on the Alabang viaduct to determine its structural soundness.
"The bottom line here is we want the PNCC to commit to the rehabilitation of the viaduct," said Alcaraz, who is acting mayor while Mayor Jaime Fresnedi is on official business abroad.
Philippine National Construction Co. (PNCC) spokesperson CheChe Perez said the agency will comply with Alcarazs deadline and submit the results tomorrow. She admitted that the Alabang viaduct needs rehabilitation and that the PNCC wants to work on it. "But were still looking for funds. It will cost us some P600 million for the bridges rehabilitation," she said. Nikko Dizon
