Cop loses car, pistols to car thieves

A policeman lost his car, his service 9mm pistol and caliber .22 pistol to three men armed with pistols and knife who stole his car along T.M. Kalaw street, Ermita, Manila.

Investigators of the Western Police District-Anti-Carnapping Division (WPD-Ancar) said they have yet to get all the details about the alleged car theft reported by policeman Dennis Reci, 25, and a resident of 233 Onyx st., San Andres, Manila.

"We advised him to secure first the (Official Receipt and Certificate of Registration) OR-CR of the car and documents of his gun before we could pursue with the investigation," an investigator said.

Initial investigation showed that Reci, whose rank and place of assignment were still unavailable as of press time, claimed robbers carted away his red Mitsubishi (TAF-535) worth P170,000 and his 9mm pistol worth P35,000. The robbers also took his caliber .22 pistol and a central processing unit (CPU) computer loaded in the car, all of which were evidence to a case the policeman is handling. Cecille Suerte Felipe
