Chief Inspector Antonio Entico, operations chief of the Western Police District-Special Operations Group (WPD-SOG), identified the suspects as Patria Raymundo, 42; Ronella Cruz, 28; Aurelio Jamadre, 37; Marlon Asutillo, 24; Danilo Macampo, 21; and Angelo Decamara, 21.
Enticos men nabbed the group while allegedly sniffing shabu in a house at 1647 Looban-Pedro Gil street, Sta. Ana, Manila at about 7 p.m.
Seized from the suspects were four sachets of shabu, three bags of marijuana, aluminum foil, improvised tooter and disposable lighters.
According to Entico, he had received several complaints from residents on the holding of frequent pot sessions at the suspects residence.
"The house was under surveillance for over a week. But the suspects seemed to be aware of the presence of undercover policemen. They have lain low for a while with their illegal acitivities," Entico said.
Following his instinct, Entico tasked his operatives led by SPO4 Cesar Teneros to conduct surveillance of the place on Valentines Day.
Police surprised the visibly "high" suspects in one of the rooms in the house.
During interrogation, the suspects said they agreed to sniff shabu to make them "high" for their celebration of Valentines Day.
Following their arrest, the suspects celebrated a loveless Valentines Day with other inmates at the SOGs detention cell as charges of violation of the anti-drugs law were prepared against them. Nestor Etolle
