Victims Joey Durano, 19, and Harris Narvaez, 25, both of Block 38, Lot 8, Lapu-Lapu street, Dagat-Dagatan Avenue, Caloocan City died while undergoing treatment at the Pagamutang Lunsod ng Malabon due to multiple stab wounds in the body.
Station Intelligence and Investigation Division (SIID) chief Superintendent Dionicio Borromeo, said he has formed a crack team to go after the suspects identified only by their aliases as "Placido," "Peter," "Joseph," "Tonying," "Johnny" and a certain "Nena."
Borromeo said they have obtained initial leads on the suspects identities through information fed to the police by concerned residents.
SPO1 Michael Viray, officer-on-case, said the bloody incident happened yesterday at around 1:30 a.m., just a few meters away from the victims house in Dagat-Dagatan Avenue.
Investigators said the suspects, all reeking with liquor and high on drugs, ordered "mami" from an ambulant vendor by the roadside.
Later on, Tonying, feeling the untimely call of nature, stood up and left his half-eaten portion apparently to relieve himself.
When he returned a few minutes later, he found his "mami" gone from the table and asked his companions who ate it. His drunken companions, misled Tonying by pointing to the suspects, who by then were already eating their own ordered "mami."
Tonying confronted the victims, who ignored him saying they had just started to eat. Resenting the way the victims responded, Tonying suddenly pulled out a fan knife and stabbed them. His companions later ganged up on the two and mauled them even as they lay wounded on the ground.
Concerned individuals rushed the victims to the nearby Pagamutang Lunsod ng Malabon but Dr. Pinky Casas, their attending physician, pronounced them dead at about 1:50 a.m.
The victims remains were brought to the Eusebio Funeral Homes in Malabon for autopsy. With Pete Laude
