Toshifuni Negishi, 54, suffered a gunshot wound in the stomach while his fellow Japanese, suspect Tadayoshi Kojo, was confined in the same hospital. Police are yet to get the statement of Negishi who remains in critical condition at the San Juan de Dios Hospital.
Based on the investigation of Senior Police Officer 4 Aranias Aguado, the incident happened at about 5 p.m. inside the Japanese office at room 600 Excelsior Condominium, Tomas Claudio street, Baclaran, Parañaque. The two are said to be partners in NES Central Japan Corp., said to be engaged in construction development projects.
Aguado said Kojo shot the victim with a caliber .38 revolver after an argument when the suspect accused Negishi of embezzling company funds. The shooting, however, alerted the condominium guards, who immediately notified the police.
Kojo suffered the heart attack as police were hauling him away.
