SPO2 Jaime Masilang, case investigator, identified the victims as Teddy Muyco, 50, and his common-law wife Ofelia Ruiz, 40, an employee of the Mandaluyong Public Order and Safety (POS). They were residents of 641 Nueve de Pebrero St., Barangay Addition Hills, Mandaluyong.
Muyco bore three gunshot wounds in the back of his head and one in the back of his body. Ruiz had a gunshot wound in the head.
Masilang adds that Muyco was driving the passenger jeepney (NVH 910) plying the Libertad-Kalentong route and had just turned towards San Clemente street from Vergara street when the two men pulled out their guns and shot dead the two victims from behind.
Some witnesses said the two men casually walked away from the scene towards Kalentong St. where they disappeared. However, the witnesses failed to say where the gunmen had boarded the victims jeepney. Police recovered four spent shells of a 9 mm pistol and a shell of a caliber .45 pistol inside the vehicle.
Probers said they are questioning POS personnel on the past assignments of the two police "assets" to identify their possible killers.
Some POS personnel said the couple were behind some police busts of suspected drug pushers in the city.
