In a report to Northern Police District Office (NPDO) chief Senior Superintendent Vidal Querol, Caloocan City police chief Superintendent Benjardi Mantele identified the gambling suspects as Reynaldo Sanpos, table manager; Nancy Clemente, Sonny Ramirez, Joel de Guzman, Jerry Garcia, Edgardo Payoyong, Edwin Cruz, Aurelia Ibanan, Adela Sayno, Lolita Delaria, and Melinda Canete, all residents of Camarin, Caloocan City.
The raid was conducted by a team from the Station Intelligence and Investigation Division (SIID) headed by Superintendent Dionisio Borromeo yesterday at around 8 a.m., Dionisio said someone called "Omeng" was identified as the jueteng maintainer while a suspected gambling lord, "Eddie Caro," was named financier.
Recovered from the suspects were P2,150 in cash bets and jueteng paraphernalia including one rubber stamp marked "Central Marikina," a stamp pad, one container with 37 plastic "bulillos," 14 sheets of bet lists, six ballpens, and a numbering machine.
A raid to stop the proliferation of video karera machines in Barangay 178 in Camarin and another at Phase 7 in Bagong Silang at 2 p.m. also yielded four units of the illegal gambling devices allegedly owned by an alias "Marlon." Jerry Botial
