Women robbed while onboard FX taxi

Four women were held up by four robbers who disguised themselves as passengers of an FX taxi van Monday night along Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard in Sta. Mesa, Manila.

The victim, Janette Dizon, 27; Richelle Tutol, 23; Rosario San Juan, 43; and Roxanne Peñafiel, 23, reported the incident to the Sampaloc police station.

They said they were on board an FX taxi van (UDV-721) when four men boarded the vehicle along St. Paul College in Quezon City. When the vehicle reached Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard, one of the suspects seated between two female passengers pulled out a gun and announced a holdup.

The victims said the other suspects divested them of their cash and jewelry. The robbers then got off the FX taxi and disappeared in narrow side streets along Magsaysay Boulevard.

The victims said they lost a total of P4,200 cash, a cellphone and several pieces of jewelry to the robbers.

SPO4 Jaime Malit, officer-on-case, said the victims described the gun holder as about 30 years old, medium built and of fair complexion.

According to Malit, the women who were traumatized by the incident are now apprehensive on riding FX taxis. – Nestor Etolle
