Mandaue City has a new fire marshal

CEBU, Philippines - Bureau of Fire Protection head Chief Supt .Carlito Romero has ordered the transfer of Mandaue City fire marshal Chief Inspector Ronaldo Orbeta to Bohol province as acting fire marshal.

He will be replaced by Senior Inspector Joel Abarquez, formerly the fire marshal of Naga city.

Both officials assumed their posts yesterday.

The turnover of command was made last Jan.15 during the New Year fire marshals’ call with their regional director Supt. Ma. Luisa Hadjula at Mariner’s Court.

According to Orbeta, who became Mandaue City’s fire marshal August last year, some of his accomplishments include the beautification of the station’s office, creation of the Basak Fire Sub-Station as part of Bantay Mandaue 161 project, increase in fire code fees, and the reconditioning of an old fire truck. — (FREEMAN)
