CEBU, Philippines - Barangay Pooc captain Doroteo Emit seeks the deportation of 66-year-old American national Richard Dunn, who has been charged in the Talisay City prosecutor’s office for alleged serious illegal detention with rape of a 21-year-old woman.
According to Emit, the American is renting an apartment he owns and worries that his continued stay in the city could make the city look bad.
Dunn was arrested on the strength of a complaint filed by the woman.
The medical findings showed that she had lacerations in her private parts.
Dunn, however, was not detained after he signified his willingness to undergo inquest proceedings and signed a waiver of detention.
He has declined to comment until help comes from the U.S. embassy.
Aside from the charges Dunn is facing, Emit will also file separate charges against him so that the apartment he is renting can be inspected.
Emit and Dunn engaged in an argument last Nov. 18 after the American allegedly got angry after Emit told him to remove his slippers before using the swimming pool. Emit owns a resort in Talisay City.
The woman claimed she was looking for a job when she went online, and had her first Internet chat with Dunn on Nov. 5. — (FREEMAN)
