CEBU, Philippines - A 42-year-old man, suspected of having failed to remit proceeds from the sale of shabu, was allegedly shot by a juvenile Tuesday afternoon in sitio Sambagan, barangay Dapitan, Cordova town.
Rolando Sumalinog was shot at his thigh and taken to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital.
The 17-year-old juvenile, a native of Kabangkalan, Negros Occidental, remains at large.
Chief Insp. Alvin Balio, Cordova police chief, said Sumalinog was outside his house when shot by the juvenile.
Police said Sumalinog was allegedly a drug pusher in the barangay and had allegedly failed to remit the proceeds.
Balio said the person who financed the illegal drugs operation in the area could be behind the shooting incident.
“Kampante gud mupusil ning batan-on, naa gyu’y gapaluyo ini nga dakong tao,” Balio said. (FREEMAN)
