CEBU, Philippines - Consolacion Mayor Teresa Alegado yesterday announced she will be seeking reelection together with Vice Mayor Aurelio Damole.
Alegado told The Freeman that she wants to continue what her administration has achieved since 2010, including the confidence the town has given to investors.
She cited the business and industrial establishments that have made the town “business friendly,” a scenario that has benefited the residence thereat. This confidence from the business sector has reportedly allowed the town to collect taxes from businessmen on time. The past two years also reflected an increase in the town’s tax collection, she said.
“Nakita sa katawhan sa lungsod sa Consolacion nga tanan natong mga gihimo mahibawo gayud sila ug ato sila nga gikunsulta,” Alegado said.
Former Consolacion mayor Avelino Gungob, Sr. also announced that he will contest Alegado in next year’s polls.
Gungob ran for vice mayor in 2010, but lost to Damole. — /JMO (FREEMAN)
