CEBU, Philippines - Three persons were injured in a shooting that transpired along the national highway of barangay Poblacion Occidental, Consolacion town yesterday morning.
The alleged target was Ian Fajardo, 32, who is still in critical condition for a gunshot wound in the left eye.
He was taken to the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.
The other victims, Mayolito Jodilla, 35, of barangay Tugbungan, was hit in the left wrist, with the same bullet also hitting Fedilyn Bucol, 32, of barangay Pulpugan, in the waist.
Both were taken to the same hospital.
SPO3 Roy Susvilla, Consolacion investigator, said an unidentified man got off from a motorcycle, approached Fajardo, and shot him pointblank.
Witnesses heard four bursts of gunfire. Bucol and Jodilla who were near Fajardo were also hit.
The assailant took off in the same motorcycle driven by another man.
Police recovered a bullet from a 9mm pistol, an empty shell, and a deformed slug at the crime scene.
Susvilla said the police will to the person who had an altercation with Fajardo prior to the shooting. — (FREEMAN)
