CEBU, Philippines - Chief Inspector Antonio Ortiz is the new fire marshal in Talisay City.
Former fire marshal chief Inspector Vonrod Dublois has been transferred to the national Bureau of Fire Protection-Manila as chief legal officer.
Dublois, who is a lawyer, served Talisay City for two-years, and his transfer was caused by the revamp of fire marshalls.
Ortiz assumed office yesterday upon the order from Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo.
But prior to his new assignment, Ortiz served as the city fire marshall of Naga City.
While there was no resistance to the revamp of Talisay, it is different in Cebu City.
Senior Supt. Aderson Comar, Cebu City fire marshal, has been transferred to the National Capital Region (NCR).
He was replaced by Chief Insp. William Tacaldo of Dumaguete City.
The revamp of the BFP-Central Visayas office affected 80 percent of the personnel and that the regional office endorsed the revamp to the DILG office.
