Students from the 6th district, numbering 1,500, were granted scholarships by the “Iskolar Quisumbing IQ Educational Assistance Program” of Rep.  Luis Gabriel Quisumbing.

Quisumbing said his IQ program benefits the poor but deserving students from the towns of Cordova, Consolacion, and Mandaue City who are currently enrolled in colleges and universities in the province.

The program is now on its second year.

Aside from financial assistance, Quisumbing’s office also plans to extend social services to them and their families.

“The program helps make quality education accessible to our college students.

What makes the scholarship program different from others is that it has its initiative in gaining the scholars commitment to give back to fellow Cebuanos through volunteer work since the scholars and their families are encouraged to participate in livelihood trainings, leadership seminars, values formations, and other projects that will enhance their skills and talents to better serve the community.
