Police arrest man for selling shabu

CEBU, Philippines - A man who allegedly sold the illicit drug shabu to mostly “habal-habal” (motorcycle taxi) drivers was arrested in a buy-bust operation Thursday afternoon at his home in barangay Tabok, Mandaue City by the Regional Anti-illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force and the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (CAIDSOTF).

Sr. Insp. Henrix Bancoleta in a television interview said the police after receiving a tip from residents conducted the raid and arrested Roderick Fuentes. 

Seized were shabu and tinfoils, Bancoleta said.

Fuentes denied selling shabu but claimed the shabu seized were for his consumption.

In another development, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7 arrested two persons Thursday afternoon for selling shabu during a buy-bust operation in sitio Bahaw, T. Padilla St., Cebu City.

Arrested were Bernadette Barrientos and Cesar Obsequias. Barrientos’ sister Teresita eluded arrest.

Seized from Barrientos were two small packets containing shabu.

Obsequias yielded two packets of the illegal drug.

Intelligence Officer 2 Jelou Anthony Paca of the PDEA-7 said charges are being readied against Teresita, Bernadette, and Obsequias.  (FREEMAN)
