Soldiers confined in hospital receive free medical supplies

CEBU, Philippines - Sixth district representative Gabriel “Luis” Quisumbing recently facilitated the distribution of medical supplies donated by the Children’s International to soldiers confined at the Orthopedic Department of the AFP Medical Center-V.Luna Hospital .

Quisumbing who is currently the vice chairman of the House Committee on National Defense, helped in the distribution of medical supplies which include thumb and ankle stabilizer and braces for elbow, wrist, foot, and hinge knee braces.

“Our soldiers risk life and limb for our country. We hope that in our own way, through projects such as this, we could show our deep appreciation and extend whatever assistance to our brothers/ sisters in uniform.

“As vice chairman of the House Committee on National Defense, I assure our soldiers that we shall push for the passage of relevant bills or resolution pertaining to the general welfare and necessary benefits for our men and women in uniform”, Rep. Quisumbing said.

Present during the distribution of medical supplies were officials of the AFP Medical Center, Orthopedic Department led by its Head- Lt.Col. Rex Prudente, assistant head - Maj. Domingo Chua, Jr., and Chief Resident- Dr. Victor Dato.

Fifty soldiers and dependents benefited from the medical supplies.  (FREEMAN)
