CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City government is contemplating seeking an extension of Mandaue City Police Office director P S/Supt. Noel Gillamac’s term: the two-year period is almost over.
City administrator James Abadia during a press conference said the city is considering requesting for Gillamac’s extension in office as MCPO director since Mayor Jonas Cortes is satisfied with his performance.
Abadia said right now the mayor has not yet received a list of names the city can choose from for Gillamac’s replacement.
If ever a list arrives and the mayor finds no one suitable for Gillamac’s position, an extension for Gillamac’s term will be requested.
The city council approved last Wednesday a resolution which commends and recognizes the exemplary and magnificent efforts of Gillamac in curbing the city’s criminality and reducing the city’s index crime from 2009 up to 2011 while being city police office director.
The resolution was authored by city councilor Diosdado Suico after the council was impressed during his appearance at the city council to report MCPO’s significant accomplishments on crime prevention. (FREEMAN)
