CEBU, Philippines - A 20-year-old woman was gypped of her laptop and cellular phone Friday morning near a pharmacy in barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City by two women who pretended to be looking for a car to rent.
Rubilyn Sulogaol, 20, single, of barangay Tawason, Mandaue City told police in barangay Basak that a woman asked her where she could find a car she could rent when another woman intervened and said cars for rent are just five meters away from where they were.
The woman looking for a car then asked Sulagaol and the other woman to accompany her to the place but when they reached the area, one of the women told Sulagaol to go back to the pharmacy and told her to wait for them there.
But before they left, the women gave her a brown envelope and told her not to open it because it contained P30,000.
The women asked for her backpack which contained a laptop, a cellular phone, and some money as guarantee she wouldn’t run away with the envelope.
Sulagaol waited for 30 minutes for the women to return before she went to the police. (FREEMAN)
