CEBU, Philippines - The municipal government of Liloan has set aside P10 million for the construction of a drainage system in low land barangays this year.
Mayor Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco said the project, named “Drainage Blitz Project in Liloan,” aims to prevent flooding in barangays Cotcot, Jubay, Poblacion, Tayud, Yati, San Vicente, and Catarman.
Frasco said the municipal government also allocated P1.8 million for the implementation of the drainage project in Barangay Yati.
The mayor said his office is also coordinating with officials of the Metro Cebu Development Council Board and the Department of Public Works and Highways.
Frasco said he has talked with Consolacion town Mayor Teresa Alegado about the drainage problem in barangay Yati in Liloan and barangay Lamac in Consolacion, suggesting the need for Liloan to link the drainage project with Consolacion town’s drainage project. - THE FREEMAN
