Police in Talisay intercept multicab moving crude, diesel oil without permit

CEBU, Philippines - A passenger multicab carrying 15 containers filled with crude and diesel oil reportedly on its way to barangay Inayawan, Cebu City was intercepted by Talisay City police Thursday.

The cargo, reportedly owned by Ronnel Montebon of barangay South Poblacion, City of Naga, and the multicab (GXC-923) driven by Leonardo Sebial are now under the custody of the Talisay City Police Station.

PO3 Glenn Burlas and PO2 Oliver Ortega of the TCPS were on patrol in the highway of Talisay when they saw the multicab and its cargo and signaled it to pull over.

Sebial was taken to the station when he failed to show papers for his cargo.

Supt. Eddie Recamara, chief of the Talisay City Police Station, said it is dangerous to travel highly-flammable substance especially on an open vehicle.

Recamara said until the owner shows documents in support of the cargo, the police will keep the fuel in custody.

The police said the fuel came from San Fernando town.  (FREEMAN)
