In Mandaue Market body ready for new market's opening

CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City market authority board is preparing for the transfer of vendors from the old public market to the new public market.

City Legal officer Giovanni Tiannero in a press conference said stall owners will have a voice in the board.

Tiannero said once stall owners are in place at the new public market which will open next month, the market authority board will formulate rules for the election of a representative to the board.

The legal officer, who is a member of the board, has assured vendors the board will immediately address problems once they are at the new market.

At present, the board is busy preparing for the transfer of vendors to the new public market, Tiannero said.

Market administrator Mosoulini Soliva said the vendors will be given their stalls on Monday and they can start to clean or embellish them.

The moment the market opens to the public, ambulant vendors would be prohibited at the premises.
