Cebu City employee arrested in Mandaue for collecting garbage without authorization

CEBU, Philippines - A job order employee of the Cebu City Solid Waste Management Board was arrested in Mandaue City for collecting garbage without a permit from a fastfood outlet at Ouano Avenue at the Reclamation Area Thursday evening.

Jason Clarus, of legal age, and a solid waste enforcer was arrested by Geraldo Silvano, solid waste enforcer of Mandaue City after he failed to present a permit to collect garbage.

Clarus was then brought to the Subangdaku police station where Placido Jerusalem, the head of the solid waste enforcement team of Mandaue city issued him a citation ticket for violation of Section 1 of the Ecological Solid Waste Management Ordinance of the city.

He was also detained for a few hours and the L-300 van that he used in collecting garbage was held.

Clarus also works on the side as a garbage collector for Juanito Ignacio, who is the brother of Inayawan brgy. capt. Rustom Ignacio.

He was only released early dawn yesterday after Ignacio paid for his fine of P5,000. (FREEMAN)
