CEBU, Philippines - Residents in Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, and other neighboring cities and municipalities are being urged to support the "Your Piso, My Dream" campaign with cancer-stricken children as the intended beneficiaries.
The program was launched recently by Coffee Dream Company, Inc. to coincide with its 15th year anniversary and as part of its corporate social responsibility program.
Glenn Anthony O. Soco, president and founder of Coffee Dream Company, Inc. said the company decided to launch the program to show its concern for children suffering from cancer.
Soco said it closely coordinates with the Kythe Foundation, which extends financial assistance to children.
One peso from every cup of coffee and other products sold goes to the foundation.
Soco, son of former Mandaue City councilor Guillermo "Momoy" Soco, told The FREEMAN that helping cancer-stricken children is also the company's way of expressing its gratitude to people who support Coffee Dream.
Coffee Dream started as a small kiosk in 1996 at the 4th Level in Ayala Center and has grown to be one of the country's leading specialty coffee chain with a total of 36 stores nationwide.
Miss Universe 3rd runnerup Miss Shamcey Supsup who graced the opening of Coffee Dream's newly-opened branch at Arcenas Estate in Banawa, Guadalupe Cebu City lauded Soco's concern for cancer victims. (FREEMAN)
