CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested a 22-year-old student Thursday afternoon in barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City after being linked by alleged cohorts to a series of burglaries.
Frank Simon Ibon, of barangay Kalunasan in Cebu City, is taking up veterinary medicine in one of the universities in Cebu City.
Alleged colleagues Welmar Encinares, 19, who drives a motorcycle for a living and resides in barangay Kalunasan, and Agustin Ibon, 24, of barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City were earlier arrested for robbery in Liloan town.
Encinares and Agustin Ibon were arrested in barangay Tayud, Liloan while taking out things from a house.
They told police the student Ibon was with them when they robbed a house in barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City while the owners were out.
Found in the student Ibon's possession were two silver rings with diamonds, a pair of earrings with a pearl, a white gold ring with a diamond, four pawnshop receipts, and a silver necklace.
Ibon is now detained at the Lapu-Lapu City detention cell pending the filing of charges against him.
