CEBU, Philippines - Charges were filed yesterday against a man and his son for robbing a vehicle that was parked near a business establishment in barangay Banilad, Mandaue City last month.
Domingo Carungay, 54, and his son, Brayan Carungay, 20, of A. Soriano Avenue in barangay Mabolo, Cebu City were charged with robbery with force in the City Prosecutor's Office.
Investigation and Detective Management Bureau chief P/insp. Rex Lomente said both men, who are still at large, were identified by witnesses who saw them and the multicab they used, and who listed down the plate number and gave it to the police.
Domingo drove a multicab and his son the passenger, witnesses said.
John Hallman and his wife Emilda lost some valuables.
Lomente also believes the two men are responsible for another robbery along A. S. Fortuna.
The police traced the multicab to a certain Godfrey Lima-lima, of barangay Mabolo, and later learned from him that the two men had rented the multicab from him for P500 per day.
Lima-lima then told the police where the two men lived.
As soon as the police arrived, the two men escaped by jumping out of a window, leaving behind packed things. The two men were about to transfer to another place. (FREEMAN)
