CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City Police Office now has information that could help resolve the killing of a businesswoman who was ambushed at the corner of A. Soriano and Plaridel Street in barangay Looc, Mandaue City Friday evening but will take time to evaluate it.
Irish Marie Hugo Gonzales was with her live-in partner Crisostomo Alcala when she was waylaid while driving her own vehicle on the way to Argao town.
She sustained three gunshot wounds which led to her death minutes after arriving at the Mandaue City Hospital.
MCPO director Noel Gillamac in an interview yesterday said they need time to evaluate the information.
For the meantime, the police will invite personalities who may have knowledge of the businesswoman's death.
Gillamac said Mayor Jonas Cortes favors the installation of CCTV cameras in intersections in the city.
Homicide chief P/Insp. Ramil Morpos also said Alcala personally went to the IDMB office yesterday and told him he is willing to cooperate in the investigation.
"Hinuon, cooperative man sad si Alcala ug ako man gani tong gi-ingnan nga try to remember kinsa'y iyang mga nakontra bag-o siya namatay," Morpos said.
He also said the police will write to the service provider of Gonzales' cellular phone and ask if the company could unlock her cellular phone.
The police will also open Gonzales's laptop before relatives to prevent accusations of altering its contents.
