CEBU, Philippines - Barangay officials in Mandaue City are now contemplating cutting down huge and old trees.
ABC president and currently barangay Subangdaku captain Ernie Manatad said after the incident in barangay Labogon three months ago wherein a buri palm killed three persons including a couple while they were sleeping in their houses, barangay officials have now decided to cut down big trees that pose danger to residents.
Most of these trees are near houses and electric posts.
Most of the old trees in the barangays are acacia and the buri palms.
The other day a jeepney driver was killed when a century old Acacia tree along Sikatuna Street in Cebu City fell on his vehicle. - THE FREEMAN
