Mandaue ends 4 job order contracts

CEBU, Philippines - The employment contracts of four workers of the Janitorial and Security Services Unit (JASSU) of the Mandaue City government have not been renewed.

According to lawyer Giovanni Tianero who head the city legal office, the workers were negligent in their duties for having abandoned their posts.

These job order employees were terminated from their jobs as an offshoot to the several burglaries that took place in the different government offices at city hall.

The four are William Abrio, who was assigned to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG); Rafael Manalili, to a cooperative office in sitio Pajara; Roel Buqueron and Eudigario Dilicen, assigned in City Treasurer's Office.

Edwin Maboloc, head of JASSU, said that due to the series of burglaries, the 195 personnel underwent a three-day retraining program last week.

In the seminar, Edwin Ermac, director for operations of Traffic Management and Enforcement Agency in Mandaue, discussed about discipline in work. – (FREEMAN)
