CEBU, Philippines - The municipal government of Liloan through its Public Employment and Service Office has helped 3,028 job applicants find jobs in different companies here and abroad.
Liloan Mayor Vincent Franco "Duke" Frasco made the announcement in yesterday's "Halad sa Kapamilya Job Fair" at the Mayor Panphil Frasco Sports Complex.
Frasco said when he assumed office last 2007, he was told that the town held a job fair once a year.
So Frasco then directed PESO head Adela Reuyan to prepare to hold a series of job fairs.
Frasco said through PESO, the town able to help Liloan residents and those residing in neighboring places find employment.
"Dako kaayo ug kabahin sa akong kinabuhi ang pagpahigayon ug job fair gumikan kay mao man usab kini ang nakatabang nako diin nakasulod ako ug trabaho," Frasco said.
The mayor also expressed his thanks to the management of ABS-CBN DYAB for helping the municipal government.
The consolidated accomplishment report for the year 2010 of the Liloan PESO shows that the number of people who found work through job fairs was 3,028.
For the month of February and April 2011 job fairs, a total of 334 workers were hired on the spot.
