MANILA, Philippines - Two employees of a telecommunications company located in barangay Lahug, Cebu City were held up by a taxi driver and an accomplice while approaching the flyover in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City midnight yesterday.
Blanche Marie Bomediano, 23, single, of barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu city and companion Justin Cline Torres, 21, of barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City, both employees of the NEC Telecommunications located at IT Park took a taxi at the IT Park midnight yesterday to get home.
Both passengers failed to notice someone seated beside the driver.
At the Subangdaku flyover, the driver and his companion declared a holdup and divested both women of their bags at the point of kitchen knife.
Bomediano’s bag contained a cellular phone worth P12,000, a wristwatch worth P3,000, P2,000, Yen 21,000, and a passport.
Torres’ bag contained two cellular phones worth P7,000,a wristwatch worth P3,500, and some other personal belongings.
The women were dropped at the Reclamation Area, but failed to take down the taxi’s name and plate number.
They then sought help from people working at a nearby gasoline station.
The police are on the case.
