CEBU, Philippines - Projects needing P1.6 billion in funding for the whole sixth district of Cebu have been endorsed for inclusion in next year's national budget by the Regional Development Council, The FREEMAN learned yesterday.
Documents obtained by The FREEMAN show a list of road and drainage rehabilitation projects for Mandaue City and the towns of Consolacion and Cordova.
Sixty million pesos would be needed for the repair of national, provincial, and city roads, including the repairs of bridges in Mandaue City.
The widening of the Cebu North Road-Canduman Section in Mandaue City is also included in the proposed budget of P25 million.
The repair of the Cebu North Hagnaya Wharf road, Mandaue City section needs P70 million.
For the repair and rehabilitation of the first Mandaue-Mactan Bridge, concreting of Logarta St. to F. Cabahug and overlay of M. Logarta in Mandaue City need P40 million.
Another P40 million is needed for the improvement of drainage projects in Mandaue City including the dredging of Manyung Creek and Tipolo Creek, repair and rehabilitation of Butuanon River and a drainage project in barangay Subangdaku.
The construction of three flyovers in Mandaue City has also been endorsed to the national government for funding in next year's General Annual Appropriation.
The improvement of the drainage in Consolacion and Cordova has also been endorsed.
