MANILA, Philippines — An adventurous spirit is the most essential of travel essentials, but when you’re 2,700 feet above sea level past the rocky, slippery, steep terrain of Mount Daraitan, being equipped with the right gear makes all the difference in easing one’s load, no matter what your fitness level, so you can simply focus on the journey.
“Since Aigle opened in the Philippines, we have been covering the Filipinos’ needs for overseas travel in cooler climates, especially with our winter-ready jackets and boots,” says Aigle Philippines operations manager Jan Andrew Naval. “For our latest collection, we want to equip more local travelers for their hikes and encourage them to explore locally.”
Mount Daraitan, located in Tanay, Rizal, feels like a world away despite being easily accessible by land from Metro Manila, and that’s where Aigle Philippines’ brand ambassadors Will Devaughn, Valeen Montenegro, Aubrey Miles and Mauro Lumba found themselves for a hike fully equipped in Aigle’s latest collection.
Activewear in its high-tech fabrication and features, Aigle’s signature look remains true to its French roots in nautical Montargis.
The latest collection is inspired by nature, interpreted in camouflage prints and abstract details. Each piece features ultra-lightweight, breathable and waterproof nylon, making the collection suitable for any type of weather. The collection also reinforces Aigle’s expertise in outerwear through its Gore-Tex fabrics that allow the skin to breathe and provide freedom of movement.
Activewear with high-tech fabrication and features and inspired by nature: Aigle’s signature look remains true to its French roots in nautical Montargis.
The collection includes nautical pieces revamped with a sporty aesthetic with colorways like cool blue coupled with stark white and bright yellow tones. On the other hand, the 1853-inspired parka range is given a nautical revamp highlighted by strong colors, contrasting details and graphic designs in silicone. Other details such as water-blocking zippers, moisture-permeable materials, and a hood-storage collar, make the collection a unique mix of form and function.?
The same lightweight, flexible technology is applied to clothing for the city, interpreted in tropical prints.
Here are some of the unique, tropical travel-ready features found in the collection:
Gore Windstopper is totally windproof and it retains body heat. At the same time, it allows moisture to evaporate from the body, which lets the skin breathe and provides total freedom of movement.
Thermo-regulation features like Coolmax, a performance fabric that includes an effective fiber-based moisture management system that allows perspiration to evaporate quickly, making the wearer feel cooler and more comfortable; 37,5, natural active particles that help maintain the body within its comfort zone whatever the weather conditions and activity level; Dry Cool Textile which provides coolness and comfort to the body during physical activities.
Aigle clothing, outerwear, shoes, and accessories are also treated: WR, a water-repellent and anti-stain treatment that protects the garment. As water slides off the fabric, the breathability performance is maintained. UVC, which stands for Ultra Violet Control, filters the UV rays and blocks 96 percent of UV rays with Ultraviolet Protection Factor 30. DFT or Dry Fast Textile is a treatment that allows the fabric to dry fast and keep the body dry. The fiber absorbs the body’s moisture and removes it, allowing the body to remain dry during and after any activity.
