Joseph comes to Manila with Solange

BACK TO BLACK: Joseph's aesthetic is all about clean lines, minimalism, and monochromatic chic.

MANILA, Philippines - Next week, get ready to get decked out in the latest fashion from British luxury label Joseph — as special guest DJ Solange Knowles hits the decks and lays down some launch party tunes.

Joseph, the latest international brand to open its doors in the Philippines, will be releasing its autumn/winter 2014 collection in its first Manila location — over 150 square meters of it — in SM Aura, Taguig; only the first of many they plan to open within the next five years. (They already have 30 stores in Japan, and have recently opened in Beirut, New York, and Taipei, with a Beijing branch slated for next year.) The store itself will be reflective of the brand’s aesthetic and sensibility: minimalist, clean, and monochromatic.

Founded by Casablanca-born hairdresser Joseph Ettedgui, the original boutique was a space that served more as a magazine than a shop — it was a place to discover the new, which at the time included designers like Kenzo, Castelbajac, Azzedine Alaia, and Yohji Yamamoto — and eventually served as the showcase of his eponymous label.

Joseph opens at SM Aura on Oct. 30.
