MANILA, Philippines - Taal Vista Hotel recently celebrated its 73rd anniversary and opened the festive Christmas season with a tree lighting ceremony last Nov. 17.
The hotel’s newly-appointed general manager, Walid Wafik, welcomed guests as cocktails were served and the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra’s String Quintet played a relaxing selection of classical songs that set the mood for the evening.
Felicidad Sy, member of the board of trustees of SM Foundation; Elizabeth Sy, president of SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation; Louella Jurilla, Department of Tourism regional director for Region IV; and Taal Vista Hotel general manager Walid Wafik unveiled the hotel’s History Mural. The eye-catching wall chronicles the heritage of Tagaytay City and Taal Vista Hotel through anecdotes and historic photographs.
Following the History Mural unveiling, guests were serenaded by the angelic voices of the St. Augustine School Glee Club singing a selection of Christmas Carols as the hotel’s Christmas Tree was lit up by Felicidad Sy and Elizabeth Sy. The tree-lighting ceremony signified the start of the Christmas season at the hotel.
The celebrations continued with a leisurely tour of the newly-renovated Mountain Wing Rooms. Refurbished in a palette of soothing creams, dusky golds and rich blues, the rooms featured upgraded entertainment systems. Capping the evening on a celebratory note was a Christmas cocktail reception with entertainment by the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and Vince Lahorra on saxophone.
Taal Vista Hotel is located along Kilometer 60, Aguinaldo Highway, Tagaytay City 4120 Philippines.
