MANILA, Philippines - Betsey Johnson, popular for staging campy runway shows that include the likes of a be-mustached Kelly Osbourne, offered a cheeky tribute to the beloved designer who passed away last week at the age of 40 at her fall 2010 presentation.
The world — fashion and otherwise — still mourns Alexander McQueen, the brilliant British designer best known for his enfant terrible ways (he once inscribed the inside of a Savile Row jacket meant for Prince Charles with an unprintable word) and forward-thinking collections.
His singular presence and vision leave a palpable void during the shows, which will not see such a level of artistry again for a long time. Long live McQueen.
