MANILA, Philippines – No one likes spending hours after work stuck in traffic. If you’re up for some culture, check out these cool art exhibits happening around the Metro in the next few days.
“Alternative Instructions” is an exhibit that offers everything from experimental to street photography. It will feature the works of some Young STAR contributors like Cru Camara, Czar Kristoff and Tim Serrano. It will be held on Feb. 4 (Thursday) at Altro Mondo Picasso in Makati.
Mayi Penaflorida is having her first solo show this Feb. 10 (Wednesday) at Vinyl on Vinyl. “Garden Memento” will feature works that reflect her amusement with art as a child and having to keep it a secret. With images of fairies, nymphs and fairies in green foliage, the exhibit aims to question the line between reality and fantasy.
On Feb. 11 (Thursday), Artinformal in Mandaluyong will house Cian Dayrit’s “Pasyon.” Joining him is Jonas Eslao’s “Beyond,” which explores the theories and probabilities on what happens after death. “In the Absence of Struggles” by Jason Montinola rounds out the exhibit with pieces that evoke nothing but freedom and truth.
