MANILA, Philippines – Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: an average Joe who never thought much of him or herself, by sheer fate, suddenly acquires superpowers, faces a close often-familial tragedy, gets aromantic partner and saves the day somewhere in between. As overused as that story may be there’s still some fun to be had with that comic book cliché — provided you have a pair of scissors.
