MANILA, Philippines - Everyone looks good in a selfie,” said no one ever. Unless you’ve got the angelic perfection of Elle Fanning or Zayn Malik’s insanely chiseled features, then capturing the perfect selfie takes a little bit of practice. We stalked local fashion blogger and amateur selfie expert Raiza Poquiz to show us just how to achieve that perfect mug at any angle — and yes, that includes the duck face.

Check out more of Raiza working her selfie magic on Instagram @misspopquiz.

30: That 45-degree angle may require some H to H modeling (that’s head to hand, thank you very much), but it’s perfect for those days when you take a selfie just because sayang naman yung hair.

00: Knowing your best angle is the key to this angle. Tilt to the side and get some bonus points when you look far away, like you’re thinking of your next fried chicken meal.

30: Flashing a goofy face is all right once in a while — while it shows that you have achieved Beyoncé levels of flawlessness, you’re human and you can have fun too.

00: Taking a photo from under your chin can be tricky, but it’s the best selfie to take when whipping out your phone is a no-no. Like at work or in church.

30: Don’t worry, we won’t judge you for that duck face. After all, there’s a reason why it’s become such a cliché: everyone looks cute doing it.

00: Taking a photo with a bit of your back inadvertently shows off those barre-sculpted arms. Oh, yeah.

30: There’s an air of mystery about a selfie that crops out your eyes. Very Gossip Girl circa 2002.

00: The amateur selfie-er will always go for the overhead shot. It’s universally flattering because everything looks smaller in perspective to dem doe eyes.
