MANILA, Philippines - How often do you see people dressed in their respective school colors, soaring in the air, and bending in ways you didn’t think possible? It happens about once a year for most of us—that is, the UAAP Cheerdance Competition.
Last Sunday, the Mall of Asia Arena was filled with students who gathered in flocks all geared up in outfits that scream school pride. Energy radiated off the entire arena from both the ecstatic cheer dancers and the audience. Cheers were shouted, routines were performed, and dancers leaped and soared while the crowd let out their amazed oohs and aahs. When all was said and done, De La Salle University was awarded 2nd runner up, University of the Philippines placed 1st runner up, and National University left the arena as champions.
