MANILA, Philippines - Sixty social activists will be selected from all over the world to attend the Global Youth Summit in England, Nov. 13 to 19. The participants will spend a week in the UK sharing best practices in the areas of human rights, climate change, poverty reduction, education, HIV/AIDS, and social entrepreneurship.
Who will be selected?
Candidates should: (1) be aged 19-10 on Nov. 13, 2011, (2) have a proven track record of social entrepreneurship, community activism or volunteer work, (3) possess good spoken command of English.
How will participants be selected?
On July 4, an online call for applications will go out on www.global-changemakers.net, asking social entrepreneurs, community activists and volunteers from around the world aged 16 to 10, to submit a written application and two-minute YouTube video detailing their track record in community work and how they plan to contribute to the network activity and wider impact if selected. The deadline os applications is on July 24.
